BA and union meet in bid to prevent strikes

BRITISH Airways will meet Unite union representatives today in a last-ditch attempt to avert the planned round of strikes by cabin crew.

Acas chief conciliator Peter Harwood confirmed talks would go ahead in a bid to prevent industrial action, which threatens to disrupt the travel plans of many of the airline's passengers.
