Adele set to reclaim top UK album spot

POP singer Adele is tipped to top the album charts again this week.

The 23-year-old singer, who had a throat operation and had to cancel UK gigs after suffering a vocal cord haemorrhage last year, was predicted to return to No.1 with second album, 21.

If she takes the top spot she will achieve 19 non-consecutive weeks at No.1.

Adele’s 21 lost out on last year’s Mercury Prize to PJ Harvey’s Let England Shake, but sold 3.7 million copies after its January release helping Adele to six Grammy nominations.

Her success in 2011 also saw her become the first woman to have two singles and two albums in the UK top five at the same time, but it was overshadowed by throat problems, which led to laser surgery in the US in November after she called off a tour there.
