UK News: Migrant cap won't hit high-earning workers

HIGH-EARNING migrant workers from outside the EU will be excluded from the Government's immigration cap, Home Office minister Damian Green said today.

Bankers, lawyers and anyone else earning more than 150,000 will be allowed in over and above a monthly limit on skilled workers.

Fighting soldier pregnant

A BRITISH soldier served on the front line in Afghanistan while she was seven months' pregnant, it was revealed today.

Sources said Private Kayla Donnelly, 21, did not know she was carrying her baby while fighting in Helmand province from March to September last year.

PAEDOPHILES and rapists are to be given the right to appeal against being on the sex offenders' register for life.

It was reported today that criminals in England and Wales would be able to argue that their names and addresses should be deleted from the database because they are no longer a risk to the public. Ministers are due to announce the plans after a decision at the Supreme Court last year when five Justices of the Supreme Court rejected a Home Office challenge.

Man held over garage body

POLICE continued to question a man after a woman was found dead in her garage weeks after she was last seen.

The body of Marie Stewart, 30, was found at her address in Holmfirth, Yorkshire, on Sunday.

Detectives, who arrested a 28-year-old man, are investigating reports Ms Stewart's partner and their two children were living there while she was missing.
