UK News: Equal pay efforts 'grinding to a halt'

MOVES towards achieving equal pay for men and women in Britain appear to be "grinding to a halt", a report said today.

A study by the Equality and Human Rights Commission found that some equality gaps had closed over the past generation, but other problems remained.

Inquests to begin into deaths of 7/7 victims

INQUESTS into the deaths of the 52 innocent people killed in the 7/7 bombings were set to begin today.

More than five years after the attacks, bereaved families will finally have the chance to ask officials questions about whether their loved ones could have been saved.

The inquests have a wide-ranging remit to examine whether the emergency services' response was adequate and whether MI5 and the police could have prevented the 2005 atrocities.

New generation for Labour
