David Cameron is set to be quizzed today over the newspaper phone-hacking row that is threatening to engulf his communications chief Andy Coulson.

Jobs under threat at housing firm Connaught

Thousands of jobs were at risk today as social housing firm Connaught prepares to go into administration.

The group's board last night said it was in the process of appointing KPMG administrators for the main company and its subsidiary, Connaught Partnerships Ltd.

Other subsidiaries, however, including Connaught Compliance, National Britannia Holdings, Fountains Limited and Connaught Environment Limited, will continue to trade as normal.

Doctors of administration

Junior doctors spend more time on admin than they do on formal medical training, research suggested today.

Data from the British Medical Association shows doctors in their first year of training to become a specialist spend 14 per cent of their time on clerical work. It comes after figures showed almost one in four junior doctors drops out of NHS training in England after two years.
