Man charged over abuse

A 19-YEAR-OLD who was arrested by detectives involved in a major investigation into child sexual exploitation has been charged with two sex offences and was due in court today. Jake Ormerod was arrested following the investigation of suspected grooming of youngsters in the Torbay area.

BRITAIN would escape serious punishment if the government defies a court's ruling against the UK blanket ban on prisoners voting, it was reported today.

A leaked document prepared for Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg reportedly shows that the European Court of Human Rights could only put "political rather than judicial" pressure on the UK.

Last week, Westminster MPs overwhelmingly backed the status quo with a 234 to 22 vote in the House of Commons.

Drivers face fuel crisis

CAMPAIGNERS have warned of an impending fuel crisis which could see some motorists being priced out of using their cars as the cost of petrol and diesel at the pumps reached record levels.

The military boots were taken from a lorry which was parked overnight in Banbury between February 6 and 7. Thieves made off with 337 pairs worth 31,000.

London: Police are questioning 19 men after three others were stabbed following a mass brawl in one of the UK's best-known tourist locations.
