Tycoon to appeal hit-man verdict

AN EGYPTIAN real estate tycoon convicted of hiring a hit man for more than £1.2 million to kill a Lebanese pop singer has appealed against the verdict.

Hisham Talaat Moustafa was initially sentenced to death over the murder of the singer, who was his ex-girlfriend, but his sentence was commuted to 15 years in jail in September after a retrial.
