Two women hurt in crash

TWO women have been taken to hospital with spinal injuries after the car they were travelling in struck a tree.

The one-car accident took place on a back road off the A68, heading towards Ormiston and Pencaitland, just before 9:30pm on Thursday.

The women were trapped inside the vehicle and had to be freed by firefighters.
