Two schoolboys charged over alleged sexual assault of girl, 11

TWO schoolboys, aged ten and eleven, have been charged in connection with allegations that an 11-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in the playground of an Aberdeen primary school.

The girl was allegedly assaulted in the playground of the school in the city on Monday, 25 June.

A spokesman for Grampian Police said: “Grampian Police can confirm that a 10 and 11-year-old boy have been charged in connection with an incident on Monday, 25 June. A report will be sent to the relevant authority in due course.”

A spokesman for Aberdeen City Council said officials were assisting the police with their investigation and that the question of whether the children were being supervised properly at the time of the alleged incident would form part of the police inquiry.

He said there would also be an internal investigation by the local authority.
