Two police officers injured in road crash

TWO police officers have been injured while attending a road traffic accident in Forfar.

The male PCs were attending an incident involving four vehicles this morning when their stationary police car was struck by a Volkswagen Golf on the A90 road leading out of the town.

Both suffered neck and back injuries and were taken to Dundee's Ninewells Hospital for treatment.

No one was injured in the initial incident that the officers attended.

Tayside Police said they could not say if either of the accidents were weather-related.

Diversions on the A90 southbound road have been put in place while a crash investigation is carried out.
