Two men found dead after separate violent attacks

Scotland's biggest police force launched two murder investigations after two men died in separate incidents yesterday .

Scott Adams, 20, was discovered shortly before 2am with serious injuries outside the Village Tavern in Morrison Street, Duntocher, West Dunbartonshire.

Mr Adams, who is from nearby Parkhall, was taken to the Western Infirmary where he died a short time later.

Detective Inspector Michael Lappin, of Strathclyde Police, said: "We believe Scott had been drinking in the Village Tavern in Dumbarton Road with friends and has become involved in an altercation with one other male in nearby Morrison Street just before 2am this morning.

The suspect is described as a white man, of stocky build, with bushy eyebrows and wearing blue jeans.

A couple of hours later, at 3:55am, Scott Margery, 27, was found lying seriously injured on a footpath in Fullarton Place, Stevenston, in North Ayrshire, by a passing motorist.

Mr Margery, from Ardrossan, was taken to Crosshouse Hospital, Kilmarnock where he later died.

Strathclyde Police launched a murder inquiry and were today carrying out extensive inquiries in the local area to establish the full circumstances surrounding his death.
