Two men die in road accidents

Two men were killed in separate road accidents in the west of Scotland, police said yesterday.

The first accident involved a van which left the A85 at Glen Lochy, Argyll, at about 8:30pm on Friday.

Rescuers found three people at the scene and one man was confirmed dead. The other two were taken to hospital.

Barry Devlin, 44, from Knockentiber near Kilmarnock, died in a crash on the B707 Auchentiber to Dalry Road in North Ayrshire at about 9:15pm on Friday.

Grampian and Tayside police forces reported a spate of early-morning minor road accidents on Saturday.

Officers from the Grampian force urged motorists in the region to drive with care and Tayside Police warned of black ice on the A90.
