Two jailed for robbing footballer's home

TWO men have been locked up after being convicted of burgling the family home of Arsenal and England footballer Theo Walcott.

Kevin Wood, 32, and Ryan Lee, 23, were each jailed yesterday at Luton Crown Court for 45 months.

Wood, of Hemel Hempstead, and Lee, of Little Chalfont, Buckinghamshire, denied burglary and theft but were convicted after trial.

A third man, Chengez Khan, 28, of Chesham, admitted being carried in Walcott's stolen 25,000 Volkswagen Golf. He was sentenced to three months but will be released from custody as he has spent that amount of time on remand.

The house in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, was empty at the time on 16 February as Walcott was playing in a Champions League clash at the Emirates stadium in London.
