“The crane was lifting a panel into the air when the straps on the crane snapped and it fell onto a lorry and a car”, a spokeswoman for the service said.

Paramedics took two people to hospital with minor injuries, the Scottish Ambulance Service said.

The road was closed between Henderson Road and Bonnington Road.

The Health and Safety Executive are carrying out an investigation into the incident.
