Two found dead after murder and suicide

A WOMAN and her ex-partner were found dead in her flat after what is believed to be a murder and a suicide, police said last night.

The couple, who sources named as Aytul Serbetli, 33, and Bulent Polat, 37, had both received gunshot wounds.

Distressed family members alerted police yesterday evening after they found Ms Serbetli, the mother of a 15-year-old boy, dead in her flat in Mayo Close in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire.

Officers called to the scene found both bodies, Hertfordshire Police said.

It is believed Mr Polat shot his ex-partner before turning the gun on himself.

No-one else is believed to have been in the house at the time.
