Police Scotland said the seizure on Friday represented one of the largest recoveries of heroin in the area in recent years, and appealed for members of the public to report anyone they suspect is involved in the “despicable” trade.

The men, aged 31 and 32, were due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today in connection with the find.

Detective Chief Inspector Alex Dowall said: “This recovery demonstrates that Police Scotland is committed to working with our communities to tackle the misery caused by those who peddle controlled drugs throughout the north east.

“It will have a significant impact on the availability of heroin throughout Aberdeenshire and Moray and we appeal to members of our local communities to continue to work with us and report to Police Scotland those who they suspect to be involved in this despicable trade.”
