Two dead and five injured in weekend of carnage on Scotland's roads

A WOMAN has died and five others were taken to hospital following a two-car crash yesterday.

The accident happened at around 9:40am on Station Road in Errol, Perth.

Tayside Police said the woman, who was a front seat passenger in a pink Nissan Micra, died at the scene.

The driver and back seat passenger of the same car - both of them female - were taken to hospital, where the driver was said to be in a critical condition.

Three women in the other vehicle, a blue Vauxhall Antara, were also taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee. Police closed Station Road to allow crash investigations to take place. Anyone with any information, or who may have seen the cars before the crash, is asked to contact police.

On Saturday, a driver died at the scene of a head-on collision in Clackmannanshire. The incident, involving two vehicles, happened on the B9140 Tullibody to Dollarbeg Road at about 2:30pm.
