Two cut free from vehicles

TWO DRIVERS are in hospital after a three-car collision near Balerno.

The accident, which happened at 9.30pm last night, involved three cars travelling on the A72.

A 19-year-old and a 58-year-old man, who were each driving a vehicle, were taken to the ERI, though their condition is unknown.

The men had to be cut free from their cars by firefighters using hydraulic cutting equipment.

It is not known how many people were involved in the crash in total, but an ambulance treated a number of other casualties who did not need hospital treatment.
