Two charged over thefts

TWO men have been arrested and charged in connection with alleged break-ins and thefts from licensed premises in the Capital.

More than 13,000 was stolen during the thefts, which took place at three businesses across the city.

The men, aged 47 and 33, were also charged in connection with an alleged attempted robbery from a convenience store in Roseburn Terrace.

The pair were due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday to face the charges.

The arrests came as new figures showed that housebreakings in Edinburgh between April and January fell by 12 per cent against the same period last year, from 1790 to 1584.
