Two charged over robbery

TWO men have been arrested and charged in connection with a knife-point robbery at an Edinburgh convenience store.

A four-figure sum of cash was stolen during the raid, which took place at the Co-op store in Corslet Place, Currie, on December 29. The men, aged 20 and 21, are set to appear in court at a later date.

During the robbery, two masked attackers grabbed a female worker from behind and threatened her with a knife as she opened the shutters of the shop at 5.40am.

They made her unlock the safe before seizing the money.
