Two charged in attempted murder probe

TWO men have been charged with abduction and attempted murder in relation to an incident in Fauldhouse last month.

The arrests follow police raids on several homes in West Lothian after a 40-year-old man from England was allegedly seriously assaulted before being held against his will.

Warrants were issued to search the homes - one in the Whiteside area of Bathgate and another in Torphichen - following the incident in an area of woodland in the McKinnon Road area of Fauldhouse.

A police spokesman said: "Two men have been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged serious assault.

"The men have already made a first appearance at Livingston Sheriff Court. The 47-year-old has been released to appear again at a later date, while the 31-year-old has been remanded in custody."

Dean Thomas Buchanan, 31, from Torphichen, and Stephen Sangster, 47, from Bathgate, have both been charged with abduction and assault with the intent to murder.
