Two arrests as officers seize £150k in drugs

TWO men have been arrested and charged after police seized an estimated £150,000 of class A drugs.

They were stopped by police in Ferry Road in the early hours of Thursday, as part of an on-going operation to target organised crime groups in the north of Edinburgh.

Police recovered one and a half kilos of diamorphine, with an estimated value of 150,000.

A police spokesman said: "This seizure represents yet another significant impact into the illegal operations of organised crime groups in Edinburgh. We will not relent in removing these groups from our communities."

Two men, aged 39 and 22, were due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday.
