TVs bought 'without job'

AN alleged drug dealer spent more than £1800 on two flat-screen TVs despite a six-month police surveillance operation never seeing him do a "legitimate day's work", a trial has heard.

James Purves was tracked by undercover officers who caught him carrying out alleged drug deals involving cocaine across the Lothians.

At the High Court in Edinburgh yesterday, Detective Constable Charles Watson gave evidence that the 28-year-old splashed out on the televisions at a Curries store in Fort Kinnaird retail park.

Purves denies the offences. The trial continues.
