TUC puts spend cuts on agenda

UNION activists will discuss campaigning against the Government's public spending cuts, defending services, helping young people through the recession and protecting pensions when the TUC holds its annual conference on 13-16 September.

The agenda for the Manchester conference shows other topics for debate include defending state education and the welfare state, increasing the minimum wage, and campaigning against the BNP..

RMT general secretary Bob Crow said: "The TUC has to be the launch-pad for the fightback against the Government's unprecedented attacks on public services and the welfare state."
