Trouble set to be barred

THE first Best Bar None scheme to be set up in the Capital is to be created in Leith in a bid to boost safety and keep out troublemakers from pubs.

Representatives from 68 licensed premises were set to meet with members of the police, The Scottish Business Crime Centre, city council, and Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service at Ocean Terminal yesterday.

Existing schemes are already running in West Lothian, East Lothian and Midlothian.

Chief Superintendent Gill Imery said: "This scheme has proven to be very successful in other areas, and I hope that this initiative will be equally successful in Edinburgh."
