Troop charity is honoured

A CHARITY which was set up by the parents of a fallen Lothians soldier has been honoured for its tireless work.

The Mark Wright Project has been named in the Friends of The Forces Awards for the support it offers ex-service personnel and their families.

The Dalkeith-based charity was set up by Bob and Jem Wright in memory of their son, a 27-year-old corporal with the 3rd Battalion, Parachute Regiment.

He was killed in action in Helmand in September 2006.
