Trio in hospital after flats fire

THREE people were taken to the Royal Infirmary with smoke inhalation after a fire broke out in a block of flats in the Meadows.

The fire started in the common stair of the four-storey block on Boroughloch Square at around 3:30am on Sunday.

Two men and a women, all thought to be in their 30s, were taken to hospital by ambulance.

Four appliances from Liberton and Tollcross attended the scene.
