Trio charged over incident with weapon

TWO men and a woman have been charged with carrying offensive weapons after an alleged incident in a Lothian town.

The men, aged 31 and 36, and the 28-year-old woman were arrested following the incident at around 3pm last Thursday at Gilbert Avenue in North Berwick, East Lothian.

The trio were taken to Dalkeith police station, where they were cautioned and charged with possession of an offensive weapon and a breach of the peace.

Meanwhile, a 31-year-old man from the North Berwick area has been charged with a breach of the peace on 6 March in the town's St Baldred's Road.

The man is accused of attempting to start a fight with another man. A report is set to be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
