Tributes to dead runner

FRIENDS have paid tribute to a runner who died while competing in a long-distance race at the weekend.

Andy Dunne, 25, was in the latter stages of the inaugural Scotland Kilomathon when he collapsed in Main Street, Kirkliston just before 10am on Sunday.

Mr Dunne, who lived in Aberdeen, was treated at the scene by paramedics but he later died in St John's Hospital.

One friend said: "Andy was there to help and encourage the other guys who were less experienced than him - he was just that type of guy."
