Tribute to man found dead

The family of a young father whose body was discovered at a flat at the weekend have paid tribute to their "outgoing and hardworking lad".

Fife Constabulary yesterday confirmed the man's identity as 27-year-old Barry McLean.

In a statement, his family said: "Alan and Petrina McLean are devastated at the loss of their eldest son Barry aged 27.

"He was a charismatic, lovely family man. Barry was exceptionally close to his parents, brother and sister, and was a devoted partner and father.

"He was an outgoing and hard-working lad with strong family values. He will be deeply missed as a son, grandson, brother, nephew, partner, father and friend."

Sean Kitchener, 26, from Burntisland made no plea at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court yesterday when was charged with killing Barry McLean.
