Trial date for knife attacker

A MAN accused of a knife attack on a top Law Society official is expected to face trial in October.

Leslie Cumming, 66, is said to have been attacked by masked Robert Graham in Edinburgh in January 2006.

Graham, 46, appeared from custody at the High Court in Edinburgh yesterday. He denies a charge of attempting to murder Mr Cumming. Judge Lord Uist fixed October 31 as Graham's trial date but with a further hearing in September.
