Travelodge adds ten hotels to its city chain

THE budget hotel chain Travelodge is adding another ten sites to maintain its push into city centres.

The company said yesterday that the new sites – which have a combined investment value of 60.7 million – will add a total of 1,133 rooms to its portfolio. Most of the new hotels will be in major cities, including three in London – at Bethnal Green, Bank and Ealing – as the firm aims to be the biggest chain in the region by the 2012 Olympic Games.

The other new hotels will be launched in Manchester, Bristol, Liverpool, Camberley, Cannock and Andover.

The group expanded faster than at any time in its history last year as recession-hit business travellers sought cheaper accommodation options.
