Travel in time back to an old Auld Reekie

SEEDY goings-on in the closes and wynds of old Edinburgh will be the topic of discussion in the city this Saturday.

Free costumed presentations will be given in the Museum of Edinburgh, on the Canongate, allowing visitors to step back in time to the days of Auld Reekie.

The presentations, entitled "At Home with Mrs Doig" are suitable for all the family and run at 11am, 12pm, 2pm and 3pm.

Find out about Edinburgh life in the 1700s, learn the etiquette required by polite society and be outraged at the goings-on in the closes and wynds.

Later in the year, another event hosted by Edinburgh World Heritage takes place in the Assembly Rooms, looking at the essentials of Georgian etiquette and dress.
