Wow extends Edinburgh-Reykjavik flights year round

Year-round flights between Edinburgh and Iceland will be launched in November by Wow extending its summer service to Reykjavik.

The Icelandic low cost airline also announced today it would add a third weekly flight at the same time, thanks to “impressive sales”.

These will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays compared to the current Wednesday and Sunday flights, which started in July and will continue until October.

EasyJet flies the route twice a week, which will increase to four times a week this winter.

News of the Wow expansion comes as Icelandair prepares to increase its Glasgow-Reykjavik flights to daily from next month.

Like Wow, these connect with long-haul flights to the United States and Canada, which can be quicker than via other hubs such as Heathrow and Amsterdam.
