Woman who died in Aberdeenshire crash named

And it has been revealed that she died on the same day as her younger sister Kaitlin celebrated her 13th birthday.

Ms Clark died in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after being airlifted to hospital by air ambulance following the horrific collision on the A98 Banff to Portsoy road. She was driving a black Seat Leon which was in collision with a blue Volkswagen Golf on the road, five miles East of Portsoy.

The male driver of the Golf was also flown by air ambulance to the ARI. His female passenger was taken by ambulance to Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin.

All three people had to be cut from the mangled wreckage of the cars by firefighters from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

Friends of the 21 year-old flooded social networking sites at the weekend with tributes and messages of condolence.They included her boyfriend, Michael Thomson, who posted: “One of the most special people I have ever known was taken from us last night.

“I never ever expected you to not be here anymore, you were far too kind, loving, special and amazing in every possible way for this to be true. You didn’t deserve this.”

He added: “I love you so much and I always will. Take care of yourself baby and sleep tight. Miss you so much.”

Other friends described her as “fantastic”, “one-in-a-million” and a “beautiful girl from the inside out.”

The former Turriff Academy pupil is understood to have been employed at t R&M Engineering in Huntly.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Enquiries are continuing into the circumstances of the collision and Police Scotland are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision and has not already spoken to police to call Police Scotland on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. “
