Police have said she was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary but her injuries were fatal.

“All three emergency services attended the scene. The casualty was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and there were no other casualties,” a spokesman for the police said.

A spokesman for the fire service said crews cut free a woman from a car after being involved in a collision with a lorry near Oldmeldrum.

Police Scotland can confirm that two vehicles were involved and the female driver of one vehicle has been fatally injured,” said a force spokesman.

“The female is in her late 20s. The A947 is likely to remain closed for several hours whilst Police Scotland investigate the circumstances.”
