Woman dies after Aberdeenshire crash

A woman has died in hospital after a two-car crash in Aberdeenshire.

The accident happened around 2.15pm today on the A98 Portsoy to Cullen Road and involved a blue BMW and a silver Peugeot.

The woman, who was a passenger in the Peugeot, was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where she later died, police said.

Three other people were also injured and officers are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or saw the cars before to contact them on 101.
