Woman airlifted to hospital after crash on Skye

A woman has been airlifted by helicopter to hospital after a one-vehicle crash on the Isle of Skye.

Motorists using the A87 have been warned to expect delays as there are no suitable alternative routes.

The accident happened at around 10.30am today a mile north of Broadford. the woman’s condition is not yet known.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Emergency services are in attendance at a serious road traffic collision on the A87, approximately one mile north of Broadford on the Isle of Skye.

“Heli-med is attending for an injured female. One vehicle is involved and the road is closed.”
