Woman, 85, dies after Broughty Ferry collision

POLICE have named an elderly woman who died in a road accident on Wednesday evening in a Dundee suburb.

85 year-old Vanda Grewar died in the St Vincent Street incident shortly before 6pm last night.

It is believed that Ms Grewar may have died after becoming ill while driving.

No-one else was injured in the incident, where the car crashed near the railway bridge.

A police spokesperson said: police spokesman said: “Police Scotland, Tayside Division can confirm we attended a road traffic collision on Wednesday May 4 at St Vincent Street, Broughty Ferry, where a woman sadly died.

“She has been named as 85-year-old Vanda Grewar, of the Monifieth area.”

A report of the incident has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal. Any witnesses are being urged to contact Police Scotland on 101.
