Watch: Serco MD on future of Caledonian Sleeper
PETER Strachan, new managing director of the Caledonian Sleeper, joins The Scotsman’s transport correspondent Alastair Dalton to discuss future plans for the train service.
For the first time in its history the Sleeper will run as a standalone operation when new operator Serco take over next week.
The Scottish Government had previously called for improvements to the service, which has been running for almost 150 years and is currently in the hands of ScotRail.

Hide AdThe system currently has five routes, with trains running six nights a week between Euston and Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Inverness and Fort William.
Dalton asks Strachan about Serco’s plans to raise standards, introduce new trains, and other aspects of rail travel that could impact the Sleeper.
