Volvo and Siemens in electric car deal

SWEDISH car maker Volvo has signed a deal with German industrial giant Siemens to develop an electric car.

Volvo, which was bought last year by China’s Geely Holding, said Siemens will make electric motors, which will be fitted to its C30 hatchback.

Stefan Jacoby, chief executive at Volvo, said the partnership would take the technology used in its vehicles “up to an entirely new level”.
