Two vehicles involved in road traffic collision near Straiton roundabout, Edinburgh

Emergency services attended an accident involving two vehicles between Straiton and Lasswade junction causing eastbound lanes to be restricted.

Police Scotland has confirmed that both vehicles involved have now been uplifted and Traffic Scotland has announced that both lanes have been cleared.

A Police Scotland Spokesperson said: "Around 6pm on Thursday, 26 November, we received a report of a road traffic incident on the A720 near to the Straiton roundabout.

"Emergency services attended, the road was partially blocked for a short while before vehicles were uplifted around 6.50pm."

Traffic Scotland stated that the A720 in Edinburgh was restricted eastbound between Lasswade and Gilmerton due to the road traffic incident.

Traffic Scotland tweeted tonight: “Traffic is a touch heavy on approach but is coping.”

Road users have been advised to use caution on approach.
