Two seriously hurt in Aberdeenshire car crash

TWO PEOPLE are in hospital with serious injuries following a two-vehicle crash which left one car completely burnt out.

The collision involving a Ford Ka and a Ford Fiesta happened on the B979, South Deeside Road about 200metres west of the Deeside Holiday Park in Aberdeenshire at around 10pm yesterday.

The Ford Ka caught fire as a result of the collision and was completely burnt out, police said.

The 19-year-old man driving the Ford Ka and the 22-year-old woman driver of the blue Ford Fiesta were both taken by ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

They are believed to have suffered serious injuries which may be life threatening.

There were no passengers in either of the vehicles and no one else was injured.

Police appealed for information from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or seen the vehicles beforehand.
