Three women rescued after city tenement blaze

THREE women have been rescued by firefighters after a blaze broke out in a flat in central Edinburgh.

Fire crews were called to Forrest Road, Edinburgh, at 12.10am on Tuesday.

The three women were led to safety from the five-storey tenement block, and passed into the care of ambulance crews.

The fire was extinguished and the cause is being investigated.
