Teen critically injured in Aberdeen A90 crash

A TEENAGE driver is fighting for his life in hospital after being critically injured when his car overturned on a sliproad off the main Aberdeen to Dundee road.

The 19 year-old male, who has still to be named, was rushed by ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary following the single vehicle crash near Aberdeen last night.

A Police Scotland spokesman said emergency services had been called to the sliproad off the A90 near to Roadside of Findon, Portlethen, shorrly after 10pm last night following a crash involving a silver Volkswagen Golf.

He said: “The 19 year-old male driver appears to have lost control of the vehicle which overturned coming to rest on the road verge.”

The spokesman said the driver has sustained “life threatening” injuries in the accident. The southbound carriageway of the A90 was closed for four hours to allow specialist officers to carry out a collision investigation at the scene.

The spokesman said: “Police Scotland would like any person who may have witnessed this incident to make contact via 101 as this will greatly assist the ongoing enquiry.”
