Saudi Arabian Airlines flight to Toronto diverts to Prestwick

A SAUDI ARABIAN Airlines flight from Jeddah to Toronto has diverted to Prestwick after reports of a medical emergency on board.

Flight SV61, which departed Jeddah at 12.09am, had just crossed over the Outer Hebrides, before looping back to land at the Ayrshire airport.

The aircraft is a Boeing 777-368(ER), capable of carrying up to 396 passengers.

The aircraft, which has the registration HZ-AK28, undertook its maiden flight on 10 July 2015, and is painted in the ‘Saudi Arabia Famous Landmarks’ livery.

No further information on the nature of the medical emergency has been given.
