Rolls–Royce orders rolling along nicely

Aero engine maker Rolls-Royce has flagged up a solid third quarter and expects to deliver strong growth in full-year profit, shrugging off turmoil in the global economy.

The world’s second-largest maker of aircraft engines behind US rival General Electric told investors yesterday that it had continued to make progress since the half-year point, helped by a continued flow of orders across its core businesses.

The group is expected to post a 2011 pre-tax profit of between £1.04 billion and £1.49bn, with the average at £1.13bn, according to a poll of 22 analysts.
