Police urge public to avoid A1 section after one-vehicle crash north of Torness

The public is being asked to avoid the A1 north of Torness in south east Scotland as multiple emergency services deal with a one-vehicle road traffic collision.

Emergency services are currently dealing with a road traffic collision on the A1 north of Torness.

The A1 remains open but the Torness Operational Police Unit is asking people to avoid the area if possible.

Emergency services including Scottish Fire and Rescue, East Lothian Police and the Scottish Ambulance Service are in attendance.

It is not yet known how the accident happened and if there are any casualties as a result.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.30am on Saturday, 27 March, we received a report of a one vehicle crash on the A1 north of Torness.

“Emergency services attended and uplift of the vehicle has been arranged.”

Scottish Ambulance Service and Scottish Fire and Rescue have been contacted for comment.
