Police, paramedics and five fire crews called to major M9 crash west of Linlithgow as road closed

Police, paramedics and five fire crews are attending a major crash involving two cans and a car on the M9 just west of Linlithgow.

Police said the collision happened on the northbound side of the motorway at junction four, at about 2:10pm, and a woman in her 30s who was driving the car has been taken to Forth Valley Hospital as a precaution. There were no other injuries.

An earlier Traffic Scotland tweet said the motorway was closed in both directions but the southbound side has since reopened, with vehicles still to be uplifted.
