Susanne Lumsden, 38, of Hyvot Grove, Edinburgh, was killed in the crash in Gilmerton Road at around about 6pm on Monday.
Firefighters freed her from her Vauxhall Astra car, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident.
